The Physicians

Lisa A. Liberatore, MD is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery. She has worked in private practice for the past eleven years. As a native New Yorker, Dr. Liberatore received an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from New York University. She subsequently earned a medical degree from Stonybrook University.

Dr. Liberatore went on to complete her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery at two of New York’s most distinguished hospitals, Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. During her residency period, her exceptional surgical skills and outstanding patient care caught the attention of world renowned Otolaryngologist, Vijay K. Anand. She was privileged to work for him for three years, gaining invaluable experience while polishing her skills.

In 2002, her hard work and dedication led her to pursue her own practice, thus establishing Lexington ENT. Dr. Liberatore has succeeded in creating a state-of-the-art facility where a wide variety of ear, nose, and throat disorders are treated. Lexington ENT also offers the latest in cosmetic and facial plastic surgery options. The success of Lexington ENT can be attributed to Dr. Liberatore’s vision and personal assurance that exceptional patient care remains a priority.

Dr. Liberatore is a dedicated Associate Professor at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell and is also actively involved in the training of Otolaryngology residents at Lenox Hill Hospital. In 2006, she was bestowed the honor of receiving the first ever Stanley Blaugrund Award for Excellence in Teaching.

She continuously attends medical conferences in order to keep abreast of the latest technology and therapies in her specialty. She also strives to incorporate a holistic approach in her practice, which compliments, but does not replace traditional medical care. Complimentary medicine, thus allows the patient to have multiple treatment options, with complete and comprehensive medical care.

Dr. Liberatore continues to maintain attending privileges at New York’s finest hospitals, which include Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell. She is a fellow of The American Academy of Otolarygology, The Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, The American College of Surgeons, The American Academy of Allergy and The American Holistic Medical Association.

Alexa S. Lessow, MD is a board certified otolaryngologist who completed her otolaryngology-head and neck surgery training at New York University Medical Center, where she was a member of the Departmental Residential Selection Committee. Dr. Lessow completed her general surgery training at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, where she received the James Moore Scholarship for the best record in Otolaryngology. Dr. Lessow received her B.A. from Dartmouth College, majoring in English and Studio Art. She is a member of the Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Lessow has done research in the areas of thyroid cancer, pediatric sinus surgery, allergic and viral rhinitis, acute and chronic otitis media, and middle ear vascular anomalies. She has had work published in otolaryngologic scientific journals and has made presentations before the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the New York Head and Neck Society, and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology and Interamerican Association of Pediatric Otolaryngology.

One of Dr. Lessow’s passions and joys is painting and drawing. Her medical illustrations for facial plastics, otology and head and neck disease have been published in various scientific journals, and her paintings, pastels and drawings have been on display in exhibitions in New York, New Hampshire and Connecticut. She continues to pursue painting and drawing in her career as well as in her spare time and is a member of the Art Students League of New York.

Monica Nguyen Okun, MD, MBA is a board-eligible otolaryngologist who completed her otolaryngology-head and neck surgery training at New York University Medical Center, where she was a member of the NYU Residency Committee. Dr. Okun completed her general surgery training at Bellevue/NYU Hospitals in Manhattan and received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. Okun received her B.A. from University of California at Berkeley, majoring in Molecular Cell Biology and minoring in English Literature. She is a member of the Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Okun has done research in the areas of obstructive sleep apnea, allergic and viral rhinitis, facial plastics, and middle ear anatomy. She has had work published in otolaryngology scientific journals and has made presentations before the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Rhinological Society.

Dr. Okun continues to maintain attending privileges at New York’s finest hospitals, which include Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. She is also actively involved in the training of Otolaryngology residents at Lenox Hill Hospital.

The Audiologist

Sheila Marzouk, AuD., CCC-A has been providing hearing health care services to this community since 1982. Dr. Marzouk received her Master of Science in audiology from Columbia University (1982) and her Doctor of Audiology from A.T. Still University (2004). She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Dr. Marzouk is Board Certified and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She is licensed to practice audiology by the New York State Education Department and licensed to dispense hearing aids by the Division of Licensing Services in New York State. Dr. Marzouk performs diagnostic evaluations of hearing and ear-related functions and provides cutting-edge technological solutions for hearing loss. Establishing a personalized fit of amplification and improving the quality of life for her patients with hearing loss remains a priority. She is pleased to be a part of this community and looks forward to servicing their needs.
